What is sermon application?

My definition: Application is the process by which the unchanging principles of God’s word are brought into life-changing contact with people who live in an ever-changing world.

    “My first computer had a 200 meg hard drive.” Feh. Stop showing off how young you are! My first computer had seven rows of beads on it! I’m talking OLD! Well, that may be a stretch. Actually, it was a Kaypro with a full 64K of ram and TWO (count ‘em) two double-sided, double-density floppy drives.
