God’s Sinless Jealousy

God is described as jealous over twenty times in the Bible.

That doesn’t sound too appealing or attractive, mainly because we almost always associate jealousy with small-minded people who usually express their selfish anger in aggressive and passive-aggressive ways.

But God’s jealousy is a holy jealousy.

It is holy in its cause, holy in its aim, and holy in its expression. That’s because it has love for its cause, love as its aim, and is loving in expression.

Human jealousy often consumes people, destroying the relationship.

Divine jealousy consumes sin, strengthening the relationship.

Thank God for His jealousy.
