Wish I’d heard that sermon, Anne. and you are right. He is, thankfully, full of majesty. Maybe I should have said, “He is not full of terrifying majesty.”

Every time I hear this text, I remember a sermon preached by your father-in-law in the Seminary in Stornoway, where he spoke of Jesus learning his trade from his father…never was there an apprentice like this one…and working in the workshop… and never was there a yoke put on an ox as well made and as well-fitting as the one Christ had made. No ox would have discomfort wearing the yoke He had made. He was the perfect pupil; as He would be the perfect Teacher; and He was the perfect carpenter.Just one thing: you say when speaking of this Teacher, ‘He is not full of majesty and terror but full of grace and truth.’ …… Well, it’s true that He is not full of terror for us, His children. But ‘majesty’? – Yes, to me, He is absolutely!Love, A x

Hello David,I especially appreciate your comments re the qualifications of the Teacher. We who pastor and teach need to remember this meekness attribute. Thanks for the good reminder.
