A question about leshreadip. It seems to me that as we are hiring staff and other finding-leaders initiatives that there really isn't a great system to tag potential Timothy's and guide them down the road.If they show up in the pastor's small group they can be easily found but how else do we find great young leaders?Hiring outside the DNA pool of the church is always risky, and the failure rate of such hires I have read is as high as 50%.The other question is how do you discern between someone who is great at doing ministry and a potential staff member who can develop teams and exponentially expand themselves in impact. Most churches I have worked at have hired great personalities but not great team developers.soQ1: How to find and develop new leaders from inside the churchQ2: How to hire staff that fit DNA, team, and mission that are exponential leaders and not just exceptional individuals

Would love to see a list of resources on counseling in each area. If my pastoral ministry degree lacked anything, it was in the area of counseling. I could definitely use some help. I have an appt. with a young man tomorrow, recently out of jail for his 5th time, whose mother asked if I would talk to. Not sure where to start.

David,

This is a fascinating list.

I resonate with your focus on a comprehensive approach to and understanding of pastoral ministry, shepherding, pastoral care and counseling, one another ministry, soul care, and biblical counseling.

Thank you for expanding our thinking.

A post on each category (a book on each category!) would be a powerful contribution.
