I drive a Prius, and I am indeed tempted to break crosswalk laws. 

But, it is not so much that I feel like good behavior in one area entitles me to looseness in another. It is because the deceleration, and then re-acceleration, are bad for my mpg average--something that the little screen in the Prius turns into a full fledged video game.

So, for some Prius owners, perhaps it is the (rather silly) idol of being a &quot;successful Prius driver&quot; that leads to the crosswalk (and stop sign, and red light) violations.]]></description>
