I wonder whether more spiritual good was achieved through those earnest sessions than through the inevitable pleasantries when the pastor is just mingling during the coffee time. Not suitable for every church, but certainly worth considering at larger churches. The section on MLJ’s post-service counselling in the 2nd vol of the Iain Murray biog is a goldmine.
