One drawback I found (and I found this after the Gospel Coalition Conference, too) is that there is a significant “let down” when we come home. During those few days, our thoughts are continually drawn to the gospel, and that’s a good thing. But when we come home, it’s back to regular life, and we are distracted by our lives and can’t focus as easily. I think we have to be prepared for that, and recognize that it simply isn’t real life to sit day after day, under good teaching; we have to live our lives as well.
