Great article! All of your points help to curb texting. Check out theclassmode.com, I just signed up for their free beta version and it notifies me if my students are using there phones during class. I mostly use it for kids that have been warned multiple times to stop using their phones, but I can imagine other uses for it as well.

This way, they can txt, check email, etc no their time, not mine.

I wonder if blocking wifi in the classroom would not be helpful as well. It does not get to the heart, but it helps curb bad habits which benefits the students.
