For those interested, there is a pretty good online course going on right now at Coursera: The Rise and Fall of Jerusalem. Taught by U of Tel Aviv professors, it helps put the major prophets and the exile into a historical perspective. As a bonus, they read from the Tanak which is fascinating for us non-Hebrew folks.
