Yesterday we had the privilege of having Pastor Al Martin preaching at our weekly chapel in Puritan Reformed Seminary.

Just before a classic Al Martin sermon on 2 Timothy 2:15, he disclosed how throughout his ministry he had labored to keep his pre-sermon prayer fresh and lively by keeping two verses “tattooed” on his mind:

He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing (John 15:5).

A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven (John 3:27).

I just got my first (and last) tat.

Pastor Martin has remained so faithful to God’s Word through many trials! He has ministered to me through his life and still through his sermons. His passion for the souls of many is so obvious in his preaching and we have benefited greatly by this faithful, godly man! So grateful he continues to be used of Him.

He has ministered to me from afar too, Susan. I am so thankful for the sermons available online. His series on Psalm 51 was especially blessed to my soul a couple of years ago when my soul was being ‘wrung through the spinner’. Pastor Martin’s teaching and preaching in these sermons was balm to my soul, and caused many a tear to fall here in my kitchen!
