Does this mean fireworks are out of the question? :)

I would add one additional issue. If the pastor(s) in a church preaches the same thing over and over again it creates boredom. Whether it's the evangelical churches endlessly preaching on end times or the hot political issue of the day or some of the dutch reformed who cannot preach on anything other than sin and misery, if we heard the same sermon in a slightly different way week after week it creates bordom. So to does the religious adherence to the Heidelberg's 52 Sabbath's. If the congregation knows that because it's the first Sunday in July that the sermon is going to be about X, that strikes me as a major problem. Predictability in order of worship is fine, predictability in sermon content creates boredom.

I agree wholeheartedly, that the worship leader must arrange his service by God's leading. So prayer is pivotal, but if you pray small prayers God still acknowledges you. Or if you pray for 15 minutes, include the sermon, the hymns or songs, the testimonies, everything. Give it all to God and leave it there. I believe in continual prayer because while you are doing the different parts you can be praying "God go with me as I sing this song touch someone's heart that they will be willing to give a testimony as to what you have done in their lives this week etc." Now, singing a happy song might cause a person to come run up and testify. But most times, it is the slow treasures that bring numerous persons up to testify of their lives before and after God has touched them. Next, when this happens church time can stretch as long as it needs to be because sometimes although you are dying of hunger being in the Spirit fills you so much you hardly feel the pangs. There is also a need to control or you can arrange church in a manner that everyone must bring food to church every Lord's day and everyone breaks bread together at a certain time and continue in the same spirit.
