I've heard narcissism called "pride in full flower." I can think of a couple narcissists that have affected me quite personally. It is amazing to see how much damage can be caused in their wake and still they deny any responsibility for it. Yet how many similar prideful tendencies do I fight on a daily basis.. It's my old man trying to rise up and seek its own glory. If it weren't for the grace of God daily mortifying my sin and pouring contempt on all my pride, I would be the worst narcissist!

Thanks for or sharing Dr. Puls's article. It is spot on. The sad thing is there is little recourse for staff when it's a denomination like the SBC, where churches are autonomous and lay-led. I wonder if data can show a correlation with healthier pastors that have to undergo examination by a presbytery. Do you have any thoughts on that, Dr. Murray?
