The pastor of the church I attend is a layman who announced that he got “the call” to preach, orchestrated the removal of the former pastor, and then was voted in as interim pastor by the congregation who has now voted for him on a permanent basis.
He likes to tell a dull joke before the “sermon” to “set the mood”. Unfortunately, for the time being, I’m stuck there.
