Actually there is a resource which allows for your style and other people's styles to learn how to work together. It is called SOCIAL STYLE® by TRACOM Group. This is a behavioral study on how people prefer to be approached and treated per their style. There are four styles which can be identified by verbal and non-verbal behaviors. TRACOM hasn't published many books on this because all of their training is done through seminars. If you or anyone on this blog would be interested in learning more about how this works, please respond here and I'll get back with you.

Ben, sorry for long delay. I don't think this is something you can learn from books, lectures, etc. You can really only learn it in society. Use the questions in the article to identify areas where this skill should be manifested, and then ask the relevant people to give you really honest feedback and critique on your abilities, or lack of them and how to improve them. At the heart of this is "love for souls." Cultivate a burden to help lost souls and point them to Christ and so much else will fall into the right place.

"Perhaps Reformed theology in general and Presbyterianism in particular are especially vulnerable to regarding intellectual achievement as identical with qualification for office. This is unfortunate. If a man cannot string a decent sentence together from a pulpit, has the personality of a ping-pong ball or the social graces of a pit viper, he will be a disaster in the ministry. The first will simply not be able to preach, the second will not be able to connect with people, and the third -- well, we all know such types and we know they only ever seem to grow churches on the basis of similarly angry people leaving the church down the road and coming to join them." Dr Trueman http://www.reformation21.org/blog/2011/06/some-questions-and-thoughts-on-1.php
