“I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free.” My son Scot and I play this song and croak along with it every morning on our ride to his school. Whatever else is going on, it’s good to remember our fundamental freedom. “At least I know I’m free.” But are we? Sure, we’re politically free, we’re free citizens. But are we really free, fully free?
