    • David Murray

Thank you Kathleen. I’ll look into that.

  • robynbass

Great lists–I’m looking at some of these on Amazon now. As I was reading through your lists of titles and authors, I was internally nodding along with most of them…and then it was like hearing brakes screeching to a halt when I saw this name: Bill Hybels. I’m not hearing good things coming from this guy, no matter how popular he is. Is he really a good source for spiritual wisdom in any area of our lives? I think we all have to carefully examine everything we’re taking in, even from the best theologians. It’s probably best to weed out the worst stuff before we even get started reading a book, though.

    • David Murray

Hi Robyn, I understand your concern. I included it because it is not really a book on spiritual wisdom but a book about organization, productivity, and time management. I believe it’s possible to learn from non-Christians in this area as well as Christians who we do not agree with on theological matters. Needs discernment of course.

You should do a Top 10 Books on Christians and Political Engagement. I did a top nine list here (http://www.enteringthepublicsquare.com/blog/9-books-to-help-christians-think-about-politics), but I guess 10 is more your style :). Great work on these lists!

  • Melinda Lanier Crouch

When should we expect the book “reset for Women” to come out? My husband is reading Reset and said I might benefit from it.

  • http://antiordinary74.blogspot.com/ Eric J Dolce

What about a list of 10 anti-Christian books or books that counter the Christian worldview that all Christians should read? I believe that the social discourse is so poor, at least in part, because the sides no longer hear each other but only seek to counter each other. As believers, we could do better by really hearing the counter-perspectives out there and glorify God by being “quick to listen and slow to speak”. Just a thought!

  • Jonathan Roberts

I am in the process of being ordained and will be working at a church that is about 50% over the age of 50. Since I am a youngish man (43), and since I love to read, I would like to be put some books in my collection to read for ministering to the congregation God has gifted me. Can you make any recommendations?

“The words of the wise are like goads, and the anthologies of the masters are like firmly embedded nails driven by a single Shepherd. And by these, my son, be further warned: There is no end to the making of many books, and much study wearies the body. When all has been heard, the conclusion of the matter is this: Fear God and keep His commandments, because this is the whole duty of man.”
