“Social justice” is a term that few of us had heard until recently. Now it’s mainstream in our culture, and even in many churches. But what does it mean?

If we look up a dictionary, the words simply mean ‘justice in society,’ which all Christians support. We want equal treatment before the law for all and in all in all walks of life.

If we ask our culture what “social justice” means, we get a much more political definition. It has more to do with environmentalism, redistribution of wealth, reparations, the redefinition of marriage and gender, transgender rights, and so on.

Instead of asking a dictionary or our culture, let’s ask the Bible, “What is social justice?” Proverbs 3:19-35 gives us God’s definition of social justice by portraying the social benefits of Wisdom.
